About Kenryu.org – Kenryu Ninshido Sanctuary
Kenryu.org is the official digital home of Kenryu (D. Kent Hayek), Iemoto (Grand Master) of Shibata-ryū Kojutsu. It serves as the central hub for the Shinobi Defense Force, legacy training manuals, VR/AI dojo development, and the integrated martial arts systems of Ju-te (Gentle Hand) and Jujiken-jutsu (Cross Fist Method).
The Two Pillars: Ju-te and Jujiken-jutsu
Drawing from Eastern martial traditions while firmly rooted in Christian faith, these arts represent complementary expressions of warrior wisdom:
-
Ju-te (柔手 – “Gentle Hand”): A soft, internal style founded in the Koryu arts of Asia. It emphasizes fluid, hand-centric techniques, redirection, yielding like the wind or bamboo, spiraling energy (inspired by elements of Jujutsu, Chen-style Tai Chi, and Yiquan), speed, and precise pressure-point targeting. Soft hand methods prove superior in many scenarios for their efficiency, subtlety, and ability to neutralize force without direct confrontation.
Ju-te’s philosophy is deeply Christian. It embodies biblical meekness (praus — power under control), strength perfected in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), righteous restraint, and love-driven protection of the vulnerable. It aligns with Jesus as the model of the Lion and the Lamb — turning the other cheek in personal offense while standing firm in defense of justice and the innocent. Training integrates spiritual disciplines like prayer, breathing (kokyu ho), and reliance on the Holy Spirit, making the body a temple (1 Corinthians 6:19) for godly service.
-
Jujiken-jutsu (Cross Fist Method): The grounded, hard style counterpart — combat-oriented and direct. It draws from battlefield-proven Koryu roots (including Musashi Shibata-ryu Kojutsu, a 400-year-old system) for powerful, effective striking, rooting, and practical self-defense in real confrontations.
Together, they reflect Eastern concepts of soft/hard duality (ju/go) reframed through a Christian lens: gentleness empowered by divine strength, hardness tempered by mercy and wisdom. The focus remains unapologetically Christian — preparing believers as spiritual warriors for end-times challenges, persecution defense, and everyday faithfulness — while remaining open to all who seek honest self-improvement, discipline, health, and ethical self-defense.
